Event Details Forced Walks: Honouring Esther Honouring Esther is the model for the Forced Walks project. A prototype walk has been devised. The route taken by Esther Brunstein and a group of Polish Jewish women in 1945 from the work camp at Hambuhren-Ovelgonne and ending at Bergen Belsen Death camp has been plotted and transposed to England. Forced Walks is a proposed programme of artist-led public walks honouring those who had no choice about their route, destination or mode of travel and, in appalling conditions, were forced to walk. The project is conceived as a live experience on foot or online; it will be documented and materials gathered for subsequent exhibition. Walkers may participate one or both days.
