Born in Vienna in 1935, Erich was the youngest of three boys. He was amongst about 5000 families deported by the Germans to Poland in autumn 1938 and came to Britain as part of the kindertransport (Children's Transport)arriving at the end of August 1939. His parents perished in the Holocaust
