The evening, with the theme, “The Will to Survive” will commemorate, particularly, the 70th Anniversary of the assassination of Reinhard Heydrich in Prague, an event that had wide and tragic consequences.
The programme will start with a moving candle lighting ceremony and short memorial service, followed by readings by teenagers, survivors' addresses and a panel discussion.
Our guest speakers will be survivors Zdenka Fantlová and Victor Greenberg. Both were born in what was Czechoslovakia and passed through several concentration camps, including Auschwitz. Zdenka is the author of ‘The Tin Ring’. Victor is one of ‘The Boys’, as described in Martin Gilbert’s book.
Sir Andrew Burns, UK Envoy for post-Holocaust issues, will give a brief address and a number of civil and diplomatic dignitaries will attend. |
